Because it involves blood vessels and surrounding epithelioid cells, this tumor is called epithelioid hemangioendothelioma. The blood vessels are lined with abnormally proliferating epithelioid cells that contribute to tumor formation. It is a rare tumor in the liver. Most of these tumors are benign, but they carry a risk of becoming cancerous. Although young people and young adults are most commonly affected, epithelioid hemangioendothelioma can occur at any age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What are the causes of epithelioid hemangioendothelioma tumors?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma tumors arise from abnormal growth in hemangioendotheliomas; however, the cause of this abnormal growth is unknown.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What are the symptoms of epithelioid hemangioendothelioma tumors?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tumor can sometimes cause pain and tenderness; however, it usually does not produce any symptoms or complaints.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How are epithelioid hemangioendothelioma tumors diagnosed?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A detailed medical history and thorough physical examination are important for diagnosis. Radiological imaging methods such as X-ray, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are also used.
